JOB ANNOUNCEMENT for LANGUAGE
ASSISTANT
EU funded Project in TURKEY (TR-09 IB FI 01)
titled “Quality Control Tests for Human Vaccines and Sera” seeks English,
Italian and Turkish speaking full-time language assistant for a Twinning
Project between Turkey, Italy and Bulgaria in the field of Free Movement of
Goods and protection of community health in accordance with the EU norms through
capacity building of vaccine and sera quality control laboratories.

Contract Duration – Approximately
22 months (Nov. 2012-Sept. 2014)
REF : LANGUAGE ASSISTANT
Tasks
- Dealing with all activities that are relevant
under the project described in the project contract,
- Translating on a daily- basis different
documents including regulations, reports, training materials, information
materials and other written materials from English and/or Italian into Turkish
and vice versa,
- Drafting and translating of written materials
(minutes of meetings, proceedings of study visits), in relation to the project
in Turkish, Italian and English,
- Interpreting during meetings, seminars,
workshops, study visits as well as other oral conversation from English and/or
Italian into Turkish and vice versa,
- Proofreading of English, Italian and Turkish
documents,
- Support the RTA assistant in the finalized
writing of reports and plans and other administrative tasks if required.
Qualifications
Applicants shall have the following
qualifications;
- University degree in languages and/or
translating and/or interpreting,
- Turkish native speaker,
- Extensive experience in project
implementation and management,
- Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills,
- Excellent oral and written communications
skills in Turkish, English and Italian languages. An advantage will be the use
of Bulgarian language.
- Familiarity with health terminology will be
an advantage,
- Acquaintance with relevant software
programmes (word, excel, outlook, internet, power point),
- Organizational and analytical skills and
initiative,
- Flexibility and maturity of judgment,
- Ability to establish and maintain effective
working relations,
- The Twinning Manual states that the applicant
is not a civil servant or agent of the beneficiaries (past 6 months) nor is on
leave from the beneficiaries to take up the position,
- Previous experience in twinning projects will
be an advantage.
Remuneration
The salary (2.000, 00 €/month) will be paid
according to the Twinning Contract.
Working contract will be signed approximately
for 22 months.
